  1. I have a Majestic Vermont Castings Fireplace. (33XDVRRN )This was installed in a new home. It does not have a blower. There is a hole for a blower rheostat. Can a blower be added to this fireplace? If so, what is required to install one and what parts?** Answer Yes our single blower will work in your fireplace… it was designed as a direct replacement for many brands of fireplace including Majestic / Vermont Castings… Your situation is similar to that of many of our customers, in that your fireplace was offered with a fireplace blower as an option, but when it was installed the original installer did not include the blower kit. Our Blower will install quickly and is guaranteed to work in your fireplace. *since your fireplace never had a blower you will also want 1 or both of the accessories that we offer with our blower- the temp sensor “to automatically turn blower un/off as fireplace heats up / cools down & the speed control to adjust the amount of air flow & noise level.

Almost all fireplaces have room to accommodate a fireplace blower- the blower is always installed in the bottom cavity at the very back of the fireplace- so that cool air will be drawn in through the bottom louvers and pushed up the back of the fireplace gathering heat along the way, until the now hot air exits out of the top louvers.  The question of will this universal fireplace blower work in my fireplace is really a matter of will the body of the fan fit in the bottom of my fireplace.  Even our largest 150cfm fan will likely fit – however some fireplaces are installed in such a way that the power or gas lines make it difficult to wiggle the fireplace blower into its resting spot.  We recommend using a soda can as a facsimile for the fireplace blower to test how the blower will fit in your fireplace– they are almost exactly the same size… our 75 cfm blower is essentially the same size as 2 soda cans taped together end-to-end.  If you can wiggle the 2 soda cans into position then you know for sure that our 75 cfm blower will also fit… if 3 soda cans taped together end-to-end fit- than our larger 150cfm blower will also fit.  If the 2 soda cans fit, but the 3 don’t quite make the turn to get into the back… then our double blower setup is more flexible and will be easier to maneuver into place.  Our fireplace fan is engineered to be just a bit smaller diameter than most factory provided fans to make it easier for homeowners to install fireplace blowers themselves.  We have 10’s of thousands of our universal fit fireplace blowers installed in all brands of fireplaces…  we are confident that this blower will work in your gas fireplace and we are happy to offer a 30 day no questions return policy.  If you purchase a fan from Fireplace Blower Outlet and for any reason decide it won’t work for you- simply ship it back in within 30 days for a full refund of the purchase price of the fan.

Will a soda can fit in the bottom door?
If you don’t have a tape measure handy, here’s a simple test to see if our universal fireplace blower will fit in your fireplace.
A soda can is just a tiny bit smaller than our fireplace blower insert.  Using a soda can as a substitute for the blower, test fit the can through the bottom opening and work it around the gas valve etc. so that it lays flat against the back of the fireplace.  If the soda can fits, then our universal fireplace blower will fit for sure.  A soda can represents the diameter of all of our fireplace blower inserts. The 75 cfm blower is the length of two cans stacked together end to end. The 150 cfm blower is about the length of 3 soda cans stacked together end to end.  If you perform this test we guarantee the universal fireplace blower will fit in your fireplace or your money back!

In the pictures below you can see that our fireplace blower insert is the same diameter as a regular soda can and the length of 2 soda cans taped together. If you are concerned that the fireplace blower may not fit in your fireplace, simply tape 2 soda cans together to make a facsimile for a fireplace fan. If it will fit through the bottom door of your fireplace and you are able to wiggle it through the pipes and wires to the back, then you can be assured that the fireplace blower will fit.  For more information you can watch our fireplace blower installation video.

  13. I have a Lennox DR4540-2 (approx. year 1999) model that does not use a standard plug for power. The junction box in the fireplace has a modular white plastic connector instead. I believe the blower model is a FBK100 but I am unable to confirm anywhere that these have the required connector. How can I connect your universal blower up to this connector?
